The condos at 1750 St. Charles Avenue were converted from apartments in the Spring of 2005. Â The location is 6 blocks from the New Orleans Warehouse District. Â The 221 units make it one of the larger condo associations in New Orleans. The building is all concrete with 7 floors on the front and rear of the building. Most of the first floor is for parking.
There are large one bedrooms of about 1000 sq. ft. and up. The Two bedrooms are 1400 sq. ft. plus. The three bedrooms are even larger. Â Most of the units are two bedroom units. All the units have views of the courtyard or of the neighborhood. Â All the condos have garage parking.Â
The lobby and parking garage has 24 hour security. There is an on site management office and staff that takes care of the condo association. All the units open into hallways and there is at left 5 elevators that take you to the garage on the ground level.
The courtyard is for walking, talking, meeting, eating and enjoying the outdoors when our weather is nice. The landscaping is always top notch. There is a large exercise gym on the second floor. The rooftop deck is available for all and has some great city views.
One of the things that stands out is that the units have large rooms. Â Its very quiet as its all concrete. The floor plans are all very similar. People have upgraded since the condos were sold in 2005 and that is the main difference in pricing.
The streetcar line is right out the front door. You can walk to a lot of retail and restaurants that are within 4-5 blocks. Its an easy walk to Magazine Street and Coliseum Square. One of the oddities is that no dogs are allowed. You can have a cat, however.
It is one of the safest condo associations in the city and you get a lot of room for your money. The condo fees are higher because of the large staff that is on site to take carre of you and the security of the building.Â
My Dad sold 8-9 units in the building and most have been to doctors and medical students because of its central location to most of the medical complexes in the New Orleans area. Its a place where you can easily lock and leave and feel good about your place.
